Boa parte do público presente no ringue gritava o nome do desafiante.

Eles gritavam o nome do cambaleante atleta.

A televisão permanece editando.

Right Punch

September 2nd, 2016

The fight was televised. Not necessarily in full. Only the best moments was transmitted - or rather, just what they judged to be the best times. The battle was edited.

Almost all of the audience shouted in the ring the challenger's name. The challenged athlete, knowing of his imminent defeat, decided that only a knockout would remove him from fighting. A part of the audience that was outside shouting his name. The last stage of the struggle was to begin.

The crowd in the ring who was shoutting the challenger's name, a folk mass composed mostly by white middle-aged men who knew he was not a hero or a great example to follow. It was more a hate against the other fighter than to support him.

Outside were, the people was obvious more mixed, less homogeneous. Women, black, artists, homosexuals and other groups shouted the name of tottering athlete. Like the others, they also knew that the future defeated fighter not always gave them the attention they deserved. There were no heroes in that place.

The battle had epic traits for some people. But to others - including me - it was fought by two wild beasts. After all, it was a jungle disguised by a luxurious building and supposedly civilized people. It was not tatami, but ring. But it was not boxing. It was not MMA. It was a fight with no rules.

The judge gave the signal. The sixth round* has begun. And - make no mistakes! - both of fighters this participated of this and the
other rounds. The challenged, even tired, stood. The challenger, knowing his weakness, went up and gave him a blow. Not with his feet, not with his head. But with his hands. With his right hand. The right punch strike directly hit your opponent, who fell and remained there until the end of the count.

The challenger won the track and became the new champion. Days after the battle, the loser didn't conform to the punch that he brought, saying the other fighter had been irregular. And he went further reported that the judges had been bought. A scandal. But, obviously, it was not included in the edition broadcast on television. If it was true, I don't know. The only certainty is that, in fact, a few thousand dolars more have appeared monthly in the bank accounts of the judges.

But don't worry. The things doesn't have changed so much. The knocked out athlete
is in good health, released by the medical department to participate in other fights. The youngest champion continues without great popularity. The public keeps his hatred. Television remains editing.

The new winner, incidentally, seems to be unbeatable. Some are even comparing him with one of the greatest fighters in history: the famous 1964 champion.

Atiraram

Dia 13 de junho de 2016

Entraram. Atiraram.
Não me conheciam. Atiraram.
Não perguntaram o meu nome. Atiraram.
Não sabiam de onde eu vim. Atiraram.
Não olharam nos meus olhos. Atiraram.
Não me deixaram dizer adeus. Atiraram.
Não aguardaram meu último suspiro. Atiraram.

They didn't wait my last breath. They shot.
They killed my body, but never what I am.

Abaporu: comer e vomitar

Perdoem-me a escatologia.
#PraCegoVer - Imagem do quadro Abaporu.
// #Inclusion - Abaporu image frame. A man sitting with his bent leg, with giants feet and hand. He is holding his little head with his left hand. Behind him there is a cactus with a flower.

E isso me marcou bastante. É fácil vomitar o conhecimento do outro.

"Ainda quero paz, eu quero alegria
Fazer melodia à luz do luar, la la laiá
Encontrar os amigos, fazer poesia
Deixando a saudade na fotografia
Coisa melhor não há"
(Mr.Catra)

Abaporu: eat and vomit

March 23th, 2016

Yes, this blog is being updated infrequently. I am drinking and - why not? - eating from other sources. Not all as refined, I must confess. But the ideas need not necessarily come from the scholar. This is an elitist and pretentious thought.

The problem is not so much what we eat or drink, but what We vomit. Forgive me the eschatology. But I write these terms in full consciousness, since there is no longer eschatological time that our present times, especially in Brazil.

In the last January, I travelled to Argentine capital and, consequently, I visited the MALBA (Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires), where I could see the most emblematic picture of Brazilian art: Abaporu, by Tarsila do Amaral. Or, in a Tupi Guarani translation, "the man who eats human flesh". And as one of the most important artistic movements of Brazilian history, the Antropofágico Movement started in the Modern Art Week of 1922 from this work of art, the main isn't the knowledge that is offered to us (what we eat), but how we return this knowledge to the world (regurgitate it takes!).

We live in a time when the eschatology of the Abaporu is necessary. I did a few years ago, a course where, before any presentation, we could see a poster with the following sentence: "Don't believe, experiment. Have your own experiences". That impressed me a lot. From the moment that we are aware that the monopoly of the knowledge is not ours; from the moment we accept the benefit of the doubt; that we fail to judge the conviction of the other and we started to critically examine our own beliefs, whether political, spiritual or sports, we can grow. It's easy to throw up on the knowledge of the other. The hard thing is to regurgitate our knowledge.

Who is better to criticize your own convictions that yourself? Just as the literal vomiting, this is not very pleasant. But in extreme polarization times, the philosophical eschatology of Abaporu can help us to not be arrogant fundamentalists, at least. Who knows, eating and throwing up, we can be able at least one good relationship between us?

"I still want peace, I want happiness
Make melody in the moonlight, la la laia
Find friends, do poetry
Leaving the longing on the photo
best thing there is"
(Mr.Catra)

Note: I told you I was drinking and eating from various sources.

Nu

19 de março de 2014

Hoje me deu vontade de estar nu. Nascemos nus.

Hoje vou tirar minha roupa.

NAKED

March 19th, 2014

I want to be naked today. We are all borned naked. Naked and hairless. Peeled in at. We are naturists in essence. But, gradually, we will wearing. "Look how beautiful: the first shoe," she says proudly, the mother of the child who cannot yet walk.

The more the time goes, less we undresses. We wear clothes for that others do not see us naked. The nudity is restricted. Shower, sex, art. The Art can recognize how beautiful it is bare. Not only Playboy and porn movies the nudity can exist. Sculptures with his penis exposed. Frames with women exposing their beautiful desvestidas curves. Cinema. The artists undresses of compunction acquired throughout life, and they back to be a naked child.

Was the naked child at the forefront of society? After all, they challenges, albeit unconsciously, the moral principles in force. There is something sacred and hypnotic in nudity. No one are freer than the naked person.
Today I'll take my clothes off. I will undress my morale. I hope we can be all naked, free and without shame, as naked children at birth.

Não-Tempo

Me vejo jantando com meus pais e irmão.

Non-time

January, 1st, 2013

If we desconsiderer the time, I am in all places.

As a supreme God, I am onipresent.

I am sleeping or on a computer at my home. But which of the homes I've had? Or which of the homes that I will have?
In the College, High School, Primary... and I'm not at school yet cause I'm still a baby.

I'm seeing myself having a dinner with my parents and brother. Rice, beans, spaghetti, meat and salad. Also a coke to drink.  It's an ordinary day, an ordinary month, an ordinary year. But it's also Christmas, New Year's Even, my birthday and the day of a dear friend's dead.

It's a sunny day. I'm on a beach. A brazilian beach, maybe Rio de Janeiro... I also feel rain on me. It's also a rainy night.

I can see for the first time that person which, for absence of time, I already know really well. I'm in Brasília, São Paulo, any small brazilian city and - why not? - Miami, Joanesburgo, Beijing, Baghdad, São Luis... what cities am I in now that I've never been yet?

If we don't considerer the time, I'm still nothing, I'm being born, I'm alive, I just died and I don't exist anymore.
